This weekend of June7-10, Isha volunteers became part of the Bonnaroo experience, joining a music festival with over 70,000 attendees which takes over the nearby small town of Manchester TN for four days every summer.Isha hosted an interactive booth in the non-profit section of the Bonnaroo festival grounds, called “Planet Roo”, and also conducted meditation sessions each morning of the festival which offered Isha Kriya, a message from Sadhguru, and music from Sounds of Isha.
A big draw at the booth was the Wheel of Consciousness game. When people first approached the booth, they would get the chance give the wheel a spin. Depending on what category it landed on, they would be asked a question. Some sample questions are below (See if you can answer them in the comments!):
“What are the three sounds you can make without using your tongue?”
“Where is the largest meditation hall in the Western hemisphere located?”
“How does a yogi order a pizza?”
If the contestant answered correctly, they would get to choose one of Sadhguru’s books to take home with them. Even if they didn’t answer correctly, they would be offered an Isha Kriya DVD and a chance to enter a raffle with the grand prize of a free ticket to Inner Engineering with Sadhguru in October!
Each morning, an Ishaanga hosted the Isha Kriya session for the many early risers who came excited for the morning yoga at the Solar Stage. After learning the kriya and receiving an audio message from Sadhguru, the session attendees were treated to a few lively songs from Sounds of Isha.
Later in the afternoon, the musicians brought out the large drums again in front of the booth and got the crowds dancing, which definitely drew attention from the passers-by!
Overall, the festival was a great experience for volunteers and attendees alike with many people coming to the booth with interest in meditation, lots of questions, and even tears of joy after experiencing Isha Kriya. A lucky winner has received their free admission to the Detroit program with Sadhguru, and over 500 Isha Kriya DVDs were personally given to interested Bonnaroo attendees.
